Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail may be heading for a better than expected opening week. According to Billboard.com, industry analysts are projecting Jay's album to sell between 450 and 500-thousand copies by the end of this week. Originally the experts predicted the album would sell as many as 400-thousand copies. However, after one day on store shelves, they decided to up their predictions by one-hundred thousand sales.
If the numbers ring true, Magna Carta will give Jay his 13th number one album on the Billboard 200 chart.
Magna Carta Holy Grail has already been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Jay earned his 12th platinum certification by selling one-million digital copies of the album to Samsung Mobile ahead of its physical release date.
